1. Billing Cycles

Warded offers two billing cycles, both with manual renewal:

  • Monthly: Pay monthly, manual renewal required before expiration
  • Yearly: Pay yearly, manual renewal required before expiration (discounted)

2. Free Trial

New users can enjoy a free trial:

  • Monthly plan: 72-hour free trial
  • Yearly plan: 14-day free trial

Trial eligibility is limited to once per account. After the trial ends, you need to actively pay to continue using the service.

3. Manual Renewal

The MVP phase uses manual renewal design. We will not automatically charge you; you need to actively renew before expiration.

If not renewed by the expiration date, the service will automatically expire and you will not be able to access protected pages.

4. Trial to Paid Conversion

During the trial, you can convert to a paid plan at any time. After trial expiration, that trial ward can no longer be converted to paid. To continue using the service, you will need to start a new activation flow. Trial to paid conversion is a state transition of the same ward:

  • ward_id remains unchanged
  • domain remains unchanged
  • ward_secret remains unchanged
  • No need to re-activate or reconfigure

5. Payment Methods

Global site (warded.me) uses Paddle as the payment processor. Paddle is the Merchant of Record, responsible for payment processing, tax compliance, and invoicing.

China site (warded.cn) uses WeChat Pay.
